About Me
Alieu Sallah is a UK-based self-taught
beaded jewellery designer, creative artist, and blogger. His passion for
beading was first inflamed while he was still living in Gambia, and to this
day, Gambian traditional techniques and styles continue to influence his own
style and designs. As a child, he would pass the time with crafts, especially
making doormats from recycled hemp potato bags, doormats which were first used
by the family and which he eventually sold out on the streets in order to earn
a little extra money.
By the time Alieu was eleven, he was working
for his mother as a salesman in her fashion and cosmetics boutique. It was
there that he learned the value of customer service and trained himself to see
his own satisfaction as being determined by his customers’ satisfaction. In
2010, Alieu made a big leap, going into
business for himself as a jeweler, selling his wares directly to his clients
and also providing advice with regards to techniques and supplies for
newcomers.
Each piece that Alieu makes is unique,
reflective of the beauty and positivity that he is feeling as he is making it.
He specializes in bespoke jewellery for weddings, christenings, rosaries, and
more. In addition, through his Facebook page, he offers repairs and other
services, taking back the jewellery he has done for enhancement and fixing the
jewellery that different artists have done.
Operating under the TaKuKai Jewellery
division of Kams Creations UK, Alieu Sallah is proud to offer his jewellery
around the world, with styles that range from the antique to the modern. He is
intent on seeing that all of his customers get exactly what they need, for
every occasion and within a timely manner.
